This interesting photo is from the Kenosha Bulletin, the August 14, 1995 issue.
To my knowledge this 47 Ambassador was the only Nash ever used as a Pace
Car in the Indy 500. I saw this car, it was painted a non traditional
Nash two tone for that period. The bottom was a Canary Yellow, the top
being Black, kinda recall the wheels being Red... It had replicas of all
the drivers signatures in that years 500 race painted all over the
bottom of it, those being in black....
It made a showing here in Kenosha, & was at the County Fair on display.
I saw it only briefly , driving by me as I was delivering my newspapers
on my route along 60th St. one day.
I wonder what this cars fate was, if it ended up in a museum...... sure
hope so!
I've never heard any mention of this car from any members.
The lady, Shirley davidson mentioned in the article is the wife of
another Plumber , from my local Union Local 93, of Waukegan IL..
