TRANSMISSION: Own Make. Constant Mesh, Synchro-Mesh 2nd & High Sliding gear low and reverse.
REAR AXLE: Own Make. Semi floating, Hypoid gear type with Torque Tube Drive.
FRONT SUSPENSION: New design Parallelogram type with coil springs and direct acting shock absorbers.
REAR SUSPENSION: Coil springs with direct acting shock absorbers.
STEERING: Gemmer Model 305 worm and roller type.
BRAKES: Lockheed hydraulic.
BODY: 4 door slip-stream. Unitised body and frame (no separate Frame)
HISTORY
First registered 14 December 1947
First Owner:
- Butler Cycles. Butler Cycles being owned by the father of John Britten of motorcycle fame.
Second Owner:
- George Tasman Caulfield. George used the Nash as a Blue Star Taxi from August 1950 when he bought the car, for six months until regulations required the colour be changed to black. After failing to comply to this regulation, George was asked to leave Blue Star Taxis but the Nash continued to be a Taxi by curb calling.
Third & Present Owner:
- Wayne & Carol Guckert. Wayne & Carol purchased this vehicle for their own personal use from the estate of George Caulfield in 1986 and completely restored it.
