Question on Water Pump Wrench.

w-p-wrench-maken.jpg - 10717 Bytes

I receive a note and photo from a fellow asking about a Nash wrench (see photo).
The wrench was manufactured by the Bonney Tool Co. and is marked, "Nash Water Pump Nut SE-125".

Any info about age, application, etc.?

Thanks,

Neil Maken

Hi All,
That wrench is used to adjust the packing nut on the Nash engines (ohv
thru 29) that have the water pump driven off the camshaft. Interesting the
step in the one side of the wrench. I wonder if that was ground in later
or not. not sure what that would be for unless the Special Six and
Advanced Six water pump packing nuts are different sizes and then this
wrench could be used for both. Perhaps tho, the step was ground in at a
later date.

Hope this helps some, Jim Dworschack

Hello,
If you'll check the Bonney web page,
http://alloy-artifacts.home.comcast.net/
it shows an example of the SE-125 Nash water pump wrench.
But this is a specialty service wrench made by Bonney for professional
mechanics, and marked as a Bonney tool.

The open-end NASH wrenches were likely made for an automobile tool kit, and
generally items of that type were cheaply made with minimal markings.
